Kayla is a first-year master’s student in the School of Education. Her main research interests revolve around impoverished youth and educational inequalities in low-income communities. Recently, she has become interested in bilingual classrooms and antiracist education. After graduating, Kayla hopes to continue her education in a Ph.D. program. Her career goals are to work in higher education as a researcher and to promote the well-being of low-income students. Prior to coming to the University of Michigan, Kayla worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Louisville, where she received her B.A. in Psychology.
